HMV, or as it has been known, ‘His Masters Voice’ has decided to launch into the world of fashion.  With CD sales on a constant decline and the rise of digital and free content seeming unstoppable, the brand needed to make a big change to keep it relevant.  Starting in Leeds in May, and with the bigger stores first, the brand has decided that fashion is the way to go.  What do we think?  Personally, I have never been the biggest fan of a band t-shirt but I do know some people (not many) who are. 

They need to get this right.  Branded under the name: The Studio, HMV promises to have designs by the likes of Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga and Liam Gallagher.  I can see why Liam would love it but do I think this is big enough to fill all their stores?  No.  If the investment is right, this could be great and the savoir of the brand but at the expense of every member of staff who can tell you all about a back catalogue but not so much about a kitten heel

Its bold and I applaud that.
