If the brand fits, wear it!

Vivien_1

There have been a number of brand partnerships which have delivered the cool factor – Jimmy Choo with H&M, Kanye West with Nike Air but this is by far one of my personal top five… Vivienne Westwood; the classic British dame has taken her American connections beyond just Pamela Anderson and worked in partnership with Lee Jeans.  Lee are to jeans what Vanilla is to ice-cream: the original and one of the best but in recent years they have suffered badly at the hands of both high-end denim brands such as 7 and high-street brands like TopShop.  They needed to do something to reignite the masses to their credibility and heritage – linking with VW is the perfect way to do this.  Not only does it create intrigue amongst the fashionista crowd but VIv is a well known enough name to still stand out on the high-street. If I had one piece of advice, it would be this…  DON’T CHANGE.  It has become common for brands to switch designers and change the scene (or seam if you will).  I would much rather wait to see what someone like Vivienne will do year on year to outdo herself rather than constantly judging whether the brand has got it right or not.  I doubt this will happen though as Lee are already in their second stage of designer partnerships…  I have already sent the link on to most of my GF’s and I expect to see a pair of these capsule bad boys gracing the dance floor soon
