Turn me on Tron
Right, so I have never actually been more excited about a film in my life… ok, so maybe about Transformers… and Star Trek, and in fact Star Wars (wow, suddenly seeing a theme here which makes me think I should invest in some Spock ears!). Sometimes I wonder about the value of updating a classic film but with a film like this which has all but disappeared into cult-dum, it can only be a good thing. Bringing something that delighted me as a kid to a whole new generation, like my wee cousin is going to be a real treat and with the advances in CGI, should either be a total corker or another Michael Bay type disaster… I wait in anticipation.
There are similarities between this and the world of creativity. I have often heard creative teams and directors say that they have to come up with something that has never been done before to really get people talking before. I disagree. All you have to do as an agency or as a creative team is come up with something better than before – spot the flaws and make them perfect, spot the elements which made it good and make them excellent. I really hope the same can be said for Tron…
